Ayuverdic Healing Massage? Yes, please!
So in one of my trips to London I had the chance to stay at The Lanesborough Hotel & Spa. A beautiful hotel, keeping the traditional English style real! What made me look forward to my stay was the hotel’s Spa. The Lanesborough Spa is considered to be one of the best Spa’s in the UK – not to say in Europe. No doubt to what my priority was – to book a treatment at the Spa!
I finally decided to go for the Deep Tissue Potali Treatment, as I felt my body needed a boost after a period of hard workouts and a hectic schedule due to work. Plus, the treatment was done with ILA products. ILA is one of my favorite brands when it comes to body products. The products are created in a meditative environment using unsurpassed natural ingredients and minimal processing. Every product is instilled with a very strong intent to nurture way beyond the surface of the skin. In other words, the products are designed to promote deep biological and emotional change in those that experience them – both through touch and smell. Oh my god I want them all!
Anywayyys I’ll write an entire post about these products as they are very special and the idea behind them is unique. As soon as I arrived at the Spa, the lovely staff provided me with a cup of a detox tea and took me on a brief tour of the facilities. The steam room, the sauna, the pool – everything – looked fantastic. The decoration harmonic and peaceful decoration make you relax at a glance! What really captured my attention though were the changing rooms. Guys, they had everything!! From hairdryers and styling equipment to earbuds, cotton and makeup remover pads. Nonetheless, within a few minutes, I was lying on my massage bed waiting for my experience to get started!
The entire treatment is inspired by Ayurvedic healing traditions. In the beginning the – uber-talented masseuse – made a good body scrub so that she cleaned my skins from all the dead cells. Then she applied ILA’s unique earth and fire essential oil blend with rhythmic, fluid massage over the whole body. The massage was followed by heated volcanic stones that soothed my muscles while herbal potali bags were saturated in warmed pine, amber, and frankincense. These bags worked with rapid movements following the pathways of ida & pingala (feminine & masculine energy). That’s where I reached the “aha” moment and felt my muscles relaxing like never before. This treatment soothes pain, muscle cramps, stress and old injuries while balancing polarity within the body.
90 minutes to heaven…
If you happen to be in London and have some extra time for self-care (which btw you MUST), please give this treat to yourself and book a treatment at the Lanesborough Spa. Take my word and if you don’t like I’ll offer you the money back ughh
