Ready for the sun

How to prepare your skin for the summer

You know you have to wear sunscreen every time you walk out the door. But, before you replace your sweater with that off-shoulder top and your boots turn into sandals, here’s what you have to do to be ready for the sun.

Brighten your skin by exfoliating

Really, do you know what will make your deep suntan last longer? A clean and hydrated skin. In order to achieve this, you have to start exfoliating now, so as to remove all dead cells and prepare for those warm sun rays. Exfoliating products also offer hydration and their antioxidant factors help the skin against sun aging, giving it a healthy glow.

When you are thirsty, you drink water. If you have already had some, you get less thirsty…same goes for your skin: So drink as much water as possible and start using face creams that bring back moisture and manage to lock it inside. A tanned face looks amazing when it is also soft and velvety…

Wear SPF

Vitamin D does wonders for the skin and our mood, however, we shouldn’t over-expose ourselves to the sun, since UV rays ignite skin aging. Start using products that protect your skin cells and support DNA restoration and make sure you renew your sunscreen every two hours. Sunglasses and a hat wouldn’t hurt, either!

Eat healthy

Your largest organ is affected by anything you put into your body, so make sure to pamper your skin by eating right. Prepare for summer with a diet full of fruit and veggies that will enhance your skin antioxidant levels, and choose green leaved vegetables and citrus fruits that will pack you up with vitamins A, C, and E that fight off inflammations.
